Things to Do in Lafayette, Louisiana: attractions to See in Lafayette

Lafayette: Attractions and more...

Lafayette is a highly impressive city from the point of view of tourism.

This city is famous for the varied heritage provided by two entirely different Cajun and Creole cultures that have been surrounding this region for years. The must see of this city is the Acadian Village which has been almost rebuilt and reconstructed so as to give that nostalgic flavour.

It has a Cajun architecture and collection of the same kind of furniture. To boosts the artists’ spirits and to encourage them, the Acadiana Arts Centre was set up.

It contains the best of paintings and other artefacts created by some artists that live here or were former residents. Then there is the Alexander Mouton House which was the home to the first governor of this place.

It is now preserved as a museum which contains a lot of valuable antiques.

Sport lovers will like the Cajun Field which is also known as ‘The Swamp’ and is home to the state football team.
