Established in 1880, Otis House Museum was built originally as the family house for sawmill owner, William Theodore Jay. Later purchased and renovated in 1930, this house was given to the State of Louisiana for further development. This became a recreational site for the visitors. This house was also placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1999.
