The city of Minden is located at the distance of twenty eight miles from the town of Webster in Louisiana. As per the records of the year 2007, the population of Minden was 13,049. It has increased by 1%25 from the year 2000 to 2007. People here undergo four seasons throughout the year. Spring occurs from the month of March to June, summer season from June to September, autumn from September to December and winter season from the month of December to March.In Minden, the Scottish Tartan Festival is celebrated in the month of April. It is celebrated by the Scottish-Americans for Scottish culture and heritage. This festival is sponsored by the Webster Parish Convention, Visitor’s Bureau and the Scottish Society of the Louisiana. Being the non-profit organization, the Scottish Society of Louisiana is created to encourage the awareness of Scottish culture in the Ark-La-Tex.
