New Iberia city is famous all over the United States of America. It is especially famous for its Sugarcane festival, which is celebrated with great enthusiasm by the locals. The Louisiana Hot Sauce festival is also one of the festivals which is celebrated all over New Iberia. The temperatures are not quite high during summers in New Iberia, as compared to other places in USA, and are thus suitable for the growth of sugarcane. The sugarcane industry gives a good employment opportunity to the locals in the area.

The botanical garden in New Iberia is a famous garden. Also, the Jungle Gardens and the Bird sanctuary are a major tourist attraction.
