New Orleans, located in Louisiana along the Mississippi river, is known for its multicultural legacy and its music and cuisine. The population of this city is around 270,000, after Hurricane Katrina. This famous tourist destination boasts of world-class architecture, music and cuisine; it is also considered to be the birthplace of jazz.

New Orleans is known for its subtropical climate which is characterized by short, mild winters and hot, humid summers. Due to its proximity to the Gulf of Mexico, New Orleans’ climate is humid for most of the year. February and March are the best times to visit for the easygoing weather.

Founded in 1718, it soon became the wealthiest city in the nation. Then, Hurricane Katrina struck the city, resulting in mass destruction. However, infrastructure was rebuilt and the city is repopulating.
