The Opelousas Museum of Art has loan exhibitions right from big museums to private art collections. This museum is a center too which is dedicated to collection, preserving and also interpreting the objects and the artifacts which offer details about the history and the culture of the city in prehistoric times to the present date. The museum is also home to the Louisiana Library collection of books. There are separate rooms which consist different category of displays.
