The Dixie Theater history began in 1928 when it was built as the Astor Theater. During that time, the theater played silent films and even held concert performances with ticket prices ranging to 50 cents. At present, the Dixie Theater has full seasons of parties, events and concerts. This theater has experienced hard times and was sold almost five times. However, in 1996 it began to cast a vision for restoring its historical and cultural heritage.
