Eighth Air Force Museum features a large collection of military and historical artefacts that go back to the early days of US military aviation. There is no entry fee and there is also a gift shop.
The Gardens of the American Rose Center are botanical gardens specializing in about 20,000 rose varieties, arranged in the form of gardens featuring miniature roses, newest rose hybrids, All-America Rose Selections, single petal roses and so on. On the whole, this is considered as the largest rose park in the US.
Cross Lake, apart from providing the water supply for the city is also popular as an open lake for fishing and boating. Moss covered cypress trees line the banks of this open lake while waterfowl, alligators and an abundance of other wildlife surround the area.
Sci-Port Discovery Center is a science and entertainment centre featuring over 290 science, math and space exhibits, an IMAX Dome Theatre, laser SPACE DOME Planetarium, gift shop and café.
