Slidell is a beautiful city located on the north east shore of Lake Pontchartrain in St. Tammany Parish in Louisiana. It is a part of the New Orleans-Metairie-Kenner Metropolitan Statistical Area. Slidell was founded on the north Shore of Pontchartrain Lake in 1882 and 1883 when the New Orleans and the North eastern railroad were constructed.

The population according to the census was 25,695 in 2000. In 2009, it increased to 27,185.
