The city of St. Francisville was established way back in the beginning of the 18th century. During the starting period of the establishment of the city it was the capital city of the Louisiana state. But later on, the capital of the state was changed because St. Francisville city was not developing as fast as compared to other neighboring cities. The city of St. Francisville is famous for the most popular sport called the Prison Rodeo which was started in the city around 40 years ago. The sport is held in the rainy season and a lot of crowd from the neighboring cities come down to the city to play the sport and to witness its thrill. St. Francisville city has a total geographical location of around 4.7 square kilometers. The famous Mississippi river flows through the city. The climate of the city is a kind of rainy one for the major portion of the year. The summers here do not last for too long. It lasts only for two months.
