Luray is paradise for all those people who love water; one can do a lot of fishing and rafting here.

There are lovely places like Page Valley Fly Fishing Services, Long’s Hunting and fishing and Downriver Canoe Company which helps rafting and fishing in fresh water.

There are a lot of gardens where people can go and relax with their families, the most popular ones being Garden Maze at Luray Caverns and Luray Singing Tower.

It is indeed very difficult to maintain structures from the past, but people here have managed to maintain Massanutten One Room School since a long time.

This school was used from 1857 to 1937. It is so well maintained that they have managed to preserve its furnishing, photos and period displays. Front Royal, Harrisonburg, Culpeper and Warrenton are the townships close to Luray.

Luray celebrates it annual Family Funfest on 4th July and it is also celebrated as the Nation’s Birthday.

The most amusing thing about this event is that, it has a duck race.
