Attractions and Places to visit Augusta

Things to Do in Augusta, best attractions and things to See.

Augusta: Attractions and more...

Of the all the attractions in Augusta, the most popular ones are the Maine State Capitol building and State House (which includes the State Library, State Museum and State Archives), The Blaine House (a beautiful mansion which also houses Maine’s Governor) and the Maine State Museum (with exhibits that represent the historic events of Maine).

Old Fort Western is a historical site worth visiting. Now a National Historic Monument, it is the oldest surviving wooden fort in the country. A visit to the Pine Street State Arboretum provides the perfect opportunity to enjoy the nature.

Augusta boasts of some of the best golf courses in Maine. Also, one should try catching the summer theatre at the theatre at Monmouth and Gas Light Theatre, and the concerts at the Augusta Civic Centre.

Some of the most popular festivals celebrated in Augusta are the ‘Whatever’ Family Festival, the Ancient Ones Outdoor Sports and Gun Show and August Mile Art.
