Tourist Guide Bucksport

Bucksport is located in Hancock County, Maine of United States. It is considered as a historic town with some of the well known historic monuments and architecture reflecting the cultural heritage of this town.

The place was first occupied by a population known as Red Giant People also known as Maritime Archaic. This place is also renowned for its fantasy stories. One of the stories is about an elephant that was associated with a circus  which went loose and was roaming here and there. Then after two weeks the elephant was captured by a pit bull and secured him with the handlers.

Due to uneven surface with ponds and streams this place has been successful for farming. Crops such as hay and potatoes grow in abundance. But, the main occupation of the people over here is ship building.

Bucksport experiences a moderate climate with less humidity.

The estimated population according to 2000 census shows a figure of 4,908
