Located in the Cumberland County the Chebeague Island is a town in Maine. The city earlier was a part of the town Cumberland. One can reach the island by the ferry services which transport the visitors from the other islands to the Chebeague Island.
The Island is located in the Eastern Time Zone. The number of people staying here are approximately 356.
The Chebeague Island is also known as the ‘Great Chebeague’. There is a nearby island by the name of ‘Little Chebeague’; during low tides one can take a walk along the sandbar to this place. Just about ¾ miles away, this island is covered with shrubs and dense forest. It is owned and maintained by the Maine Bureau of Parks and Land. The island is also known for its blueberries although due to land development these are fast diminishing.
The island falls under tidal conditions, when the city goes through a tidal effect with 8-9 feet. Being an island, even Chebeague has extended rock outcroppings which are completely underwater during the high tide and are just lurking below the surface when the tidal effect lowers down. The summers have a temperature of 60 degrees.
