Damariscotta town is situated in Lincoln County in Maine. This town is a famous tourist area and along with Newcastle, is linked by the Main Street Bridge over the Damariscotta River forming the Twin Villages. Damariscotta is an Indian name which means river of little fish. It was incorporated as a separate town in 1848.
