Located in the Hancock County the city belongs to the State of Maine in the United States of America. The city was incorporated in the year 1800 and it got settled in the year 1763. Earlier the city was a ship-building center, during the year 1960’s and 1970’s there was a business center developed along the High street, now Ellsworth is the largest shopping center in the Hancock County.
The population of the city is 6456, the density of the population is 81.5 per square meter. The city has a lot of tourists visiting its historic buildings, museums and other attractions like the nearby Acadia National Park, Mount Desert Island and the Bar Harbor region.
The Route 1 and 1A are gone via Ellsworth. The city borders the towns of Mariaville, Hancock situated to the northeast, Laminate and Trenton to the southeast, whereas Surry to the southwest and Orland to the west, and Dedham and Otis to the north of Ellsworth.
