The town of Freeport is located in the Cumberland County in the Maine region of United States.

The town has a population of approximately 7,800.

Freeport is famous for the number of outlet stores and is the house of Wolfe’s Neck Woods State Park, L.L Bean and is close to the desert region of Maine.

Freeport comes under the portion of Maine Metropolitan Statistical Area and Portland–South Portland–Biddeford.

The town is bordered along the Durham and Brunswick in the north, Yarmoth to the southwest and Pownal in the west of the city. In the Casco Bay region the city shares small borders Harpswell and Cumberland.
