The Church of Christ was concepted in Houlton in early 19th century by an old traveling preacher, Angus Dolbeck. This Church was officially organized and started by Marvin Martin and Jewel Martin. Both of them established this Church in 1943 and constructed the historic building which is situated on Main Street in Houlton. This is also the most visited historic building in Houlton.
