Saco is popular with tourists for its outdoor recreational activities. The Saco River offers a variety of water sport activities as well as fishing.
The Ferry Beach State Park covers 117 acres of land and offers a water park, swimming, surfing, fishing and camping facilities. There are several trails in the park which open in the winter for cross country skiing.
The Saco Museum holds several changing exhibitions from time to time. A number of exhibitions have been held here in the past such as ‘First Impressions’, festival of trees, folk Art Dolls, Maine Folk Art Trail, Civil War exhibition, Wrinkles in Time, The Best & The Bizarre, Garden Artistry and others. To know more about the history of Maine one can visit the Dyer library which was founded in 1881 and is a public library.
