South Sanford is a small town in Maine which is a census designated place in the town of Sanford and is located in the York County, Maine in the United States of America. The southern region of Sanford district is called as South Sanford. It is supposed to be a part of the South Portland, Maine Metropolitan Statistical Area According to the 2000 census the population in the city was found to be around 4,173 which clearly shows that it is a less populated region in the town of Sanford. According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has recorded to have a total area of about 23.4 square miles, out of which 22.8 square miles is covered by land and the remaining 0.6 square miles is under water. The area is thus much higher as compared to the total population here. Thus maximum portion of the land is used for different occupations. The climate here is mild in the summer season when the temperatures tend to be around 15 degrees and very cold during winter when temperatures drop down to about -6 degrees. July is the warmest month of the year with maximum temperature of about 27 degrees.
