According to reports, The Portland Head Light Museum is considered to be Maine's first and most famous lighthouse and museum. The museum contains explanatory displays and many other lighthouse lenses. The museum is well known for its huge collection of historical details thus attracting many tourists. The museum is open daily from the Memorial Day to Friday till Columbus Day except on Christmas.
