Assateague Island National Seashore is a unit of the National Park Service and occupies most of the Assateague Island along with the Atlantic coast of Virginia and Maryland. There are more than 2.1 million people who come and visit this park annually. This park is spread over 39, 630 acres of land and was established in the year 1965. Here, one can see the bands of feral horses who freely roam among the plants and native animals which adapt to the life of sand.
