Little Italy is an area in Baltimore east of the Inner Harbor. It is among the city's busiest restaurant districts and has acquired the unique name due to its large number of Italian immigrant population from the 20th century, who still actively reside in the area. Little Italy is known for its rising housing market and as one of the safest areas in the city. Also, every summer the community hosts an outdoor film festival where movies are projected on a wall for free.
