Bowie is a city situated in the Prince George’s County in Maryland and is the 3rd largest city in the state, in terms of area. The city covers a total area of 16.1 sq miles and is surrounded by Greater Upper Marlboro in the south, Davidsonville in the east, Woodmore, Mitchellville and Kettering to the southwest and Glenn Dale and Crofton to the northeast.The city has a population of 50,269 inhabitants as per the 2000 census and is the 5th most populous cities in Maryland.
Bowie is warm in the summer and very cold in the winter. July is the warmest month and January the coldest. Rainfall is evenly distributed all through the year and May is the wettest month with an average rain of 4.6 inches. Snowfall is 17 inches annually. The city has a rich cultural and historic heritage and the place has developed from a small agricultural town to one of the fastest and largest cities.
