Chesapeake Beach Railway Museum
In late 1800s the Chesapeake was a resort town consisting of a race track, casino, beachfront hotels etc. Around the same time the railway construction between Baltimore and Washington began and the first train to the beach made it to Chesapeake Beach on 9th June, 1900. But with subsequent depression and automobile boom the railroad ended on 15th April, 1935. In the year 1979 the railway station was converted into a museum which showcases the glorious past to visitors. The museum can be visited from May through September between 1300-1600 hrs while in April and October on weekends between the same times.
The Chesapeake Beach Water Park
Owned and operated by the Chesapeake Beach residents the Chesapeake Beach Water Park became operation in the summer of 1995. The park has eight water slides, waterfalls, fountains, kids’ area, lagoon and something for everyone. Visitors can enjoy hours of splashing in the cool waters.
