In the Maryland State in the United States, the Allegany County has a city called as Cumberland. It is separated from Ridgeley (West Virginia) by 1.1 miles, from La Vale by 2.9 miles and Carpendale (West Virginia) by 2.3 miles.

The population of this city as per the 2000 census was 21,591. The society is made up of Whites (92.54%), African American (5.06%), Native American (0.26%), Asian (0.61%), Pacific Islander (0.02%) and the rest from other races.

During the summer, temperature may reach 95 degrees Fahrenheit and in winter may drop up to 20 degrees Fahrenheit.
