Ellicott City Station
The station is located in the historic city of Ellicott and is one of America’s oldest railroad stations. It was completed in 1830 by the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad. The first 13 miles of the terminus form the part of the some oldest commercial track construction records in America. The station in 1970’s was converted as a museum. In 1999 a second restoration took place in which the building was given its 1857 appearance. It is an exhibit of early travel and transportation in America. The Museum is closed on Monday and Tuesday and operates between 1100- 1600 hrs from Wednesday to Sunday.
Benjamin Banneker Historical Park & Museum
The museum is located on the homestead of the Bannekar Family and covers an area of 142 acres in Oella. The original plot was purchased by Robert Bannaky in 1737 and was used for tobacco, wheat farming. A major archeological investigation proved the place to be the Banneker Dwelling in 1985 which was then converted into a museum. The park was opened for public viewing in 1989 and is dedicated to cultural arid natural history. The museum is open from 1000- 1600 hrs from Tuesday to Saturday.
