The Montgomery County in the Maryland State in the United States has an urbanized census-designated place (CDP) called as Germantown. There are technically three other Germantowns in Worcester County, in Baltimore County and in Anne Arundel County. However, the United States Postal Service recognizes the Germantown in Montgomery County only. It has been assigned zip codes 20875 for post office boxes and 20876 and 20874 for delivery. The gross area of Germantown is 10.8 square miles out of which only 0.1 square miles is of water and the remaining is occupied by land.
As per the 2000 census, the population of Germantown is 55,419. It is the sixth most populous CDP in Maryland.
