In the Delmarva Peninsula, this city is regarded as a leading commercial hub. Salisbury is sometimes referred to as “Crossroads of Delmarva”. Salisbury is lies near the Wicomico River and this has contributed towards the growth of this city. During the early centuries, Salisbury remained a tiny colonial outpost. It was named as an official port in 1732.
