South Gate is the part of Gateway cities which is in the eastern country of Los Angeles. This country was set up in 1769 as it was explored by Spanish explores who had come from the coast of San Diego and exploded the territory which lies between San Diego and Bay of Monterey . Later in Jan 1920 a New city got incorporated by Board of Supervisors of Los Angeles. According to the study of the year 2000 the population of the country is around 96, 375. South gate in 1990 won the All Americans City Award from the National Civic League, and it was one among the other ten communities to receive this award. The climate here is hot during the summer as it rises up to 70 degrees but the winters are not as harsh as the temperature lies around 50 degrees. The river of Los Angeles passes trough the eastern part of South Gate. Commercial activities are concentrated in the zones like Mile, Tweedy Blvd. from State St. to Atlantic, and Ave.Firestone Blvd.
