Tourist Guide Takoma Park
Takoma Park is situated in Montgomery County, Mary Land State, United States. It was discovered in the year 1883 by Benjamin Franklin Gilbert and incorporated in 1890, and in 1976 it was reincorporated as the Takoma Park historic District which is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. It is called as the Berkeley of the east and it was declared as a nuclear free zone.It is located at 38º58'48" North 77º0'8" West. The population of the city is 17,299 as per the census of 2000. About 38.5%25 of the populations were married couples and 3,949 families resided in the city. This city has a total area of 2.1 square miles (5.5 km²) and none of the area is covered with water.The average minimum temperature recorded of the city in January is 31.7, in July 68.1 and average precipitation in January is 2.58, and in July it is 4.37.The town has exciting places for visitors which includes the Takoma Old town shopping center. Takoma Park is famous for its street festival, organized on 4th October. This festival includes 18 musical groups, separate activities for children, crafts from around the world and community information groups. Takoma Park is the place for many churches which includes the Baptist Church, Presbyterian Church and etc.
