Towson is a census calculated and unincorporated community in the Baltimore County in Maryland in USA. This city is a part of the Baltimore County and consists of almost 51,793 people according to the census in the year 2000. In the list of unincorporated counties in USA, Towson is the second largest populated city. Susquehannough people were the first inhabitants in the Towson region. Hunting was their main occupation.
Towson was made the county seat of Baltimore in 1854. Towson is located at (39.392980, -76.609562). The city covers a total area of about 14.2 square miles and 1.06 %25 of the total area is covered by water. The area is positioned north of Baltimore City and inside the I-695 (Beltway). It is also east of I-83 and down York Road. The census boundaries of the city include Hampton and Lutherville-Timonium on the north, Pikesville on the west, Baltimore on the south and Parkville on the east.
