Westminster is a city situated in the northern part of the Maryland state in the United States.
As per the census of 2007, the city had a population of 17,715.
The city covers a total area of 5.7 sq miles all of which consists of land. The city is at 37.5 miles driving distance from south west of York in Pennsylvania and 36.5 miles driving distance from the north west of Baltimore.
Westminster experiences a humid continental climate with a high annual snowfall and very cold temperatures. Westminster has a history of high tornado activity which is higher than that experienced anywhere else in the state of Maryland.
The city has a number of public schools making it the city with the 9th largest school system.
A number of events are held in the city such as the Maryland Wine festival, the Carroll County fair and the Common Ground on the Hill.
