Almost all of the city parks in Boston are located in the Emerald Necklace region which is an 1,100 acre chain of parks designed by Frederick Law Olmsted.

The Public Garden is a large park containing a pond which is famous for its Swan Boats.

Numerous statues are scattered around the park and it has the world’s smallest suspension bridge.

The Garden of Peace stands as a memorial to victims of homicide.

Franklin Park
houses the Franklin Park Zoo and is the biggest park in Boston.

The Franklin Park Zoo is one of the oldest zoo facilities in the US. It contains over 220 animals species classified into ten major exhibit areas.

Olmsted Park is a park designed in a linear style which contains athletic fields and 3 ponds to the south and a river-way to the north.

Emerald Necklace also includes scenic arboretums like The Arborway and Arnold Arboretum.
