Drive around carefully in Boston as the roads are not very well lit at night and there are several places which have construction activities being carried on. Also a number of roads are one way and the maps do not give a true picture of the newly built tunnels in the area.
Parking is expensive in the city especially around Newbury area so it would be better to use other transport options such as the public transport. To add to this the traffic is bad and the drivers are hostile in Boston so if you are not too familiar with driving it is best not to try driving in this city.
Crime after dark is common in Mattapan, Roxbury and Dorchester region so avoid these areas.
Except for the summer it can be quite cold and chilly here so remember to pack plenty of warm woolen clothes.
