Boston is a student city strong of more than 300,000 students and 50 universities in the area.
On a budget visit to the city, start with Beacon Hill, the more european part of the city, where cobbled roads and red brick houses remind you of London more than America. The area is full of small independent cafes where a pancake, sausage and syrup meal is must.
From Beacon hill head to the Central Park and the State House where there is a museum on the first immigrants to the U.S.; it is freely available and gives a good insight into the city's history.
A visit to Harvard is a must with his famous grounds and the Wallace Collection that is always free and worth a visit. For the evenings head to Cambridge, an area of Boston, where a vast array of music venues, bars and small restaurants will not dissapoint you.
