The city has a population of 10,094 people. The city was named in the honor of Elder William Brewster who was the first religious leader of the pilgrims. Brewster has a total area of 25.5 square miles out of which 23.0 square miles is land and 2.5 square miles consists of water. The city has cape cod Bay in the north, Dennis in the west, Harwich in the south and Orleans in the east. The city is distributed into two villages West and East Brewster.
The United States Route 6 goes from the south of Brewster to the north of Brewster. There is no railway and airway service to the city.
