Brighton is a neighborhood of the Boston City in Massachusetts. It is to the northwest corner of the city. Its early settlement was in the year 1630. Its first permanent settlers were English settlement, who crossed the Charles River from Cambridge, and who established the Little Cambridge, the name of the area prior to 1807, when, Brighton got incorporated. This town then voted to annex itself to Boston city in 1873. By 1874, it officially became a neighborhood of the Boston City.

2009 estimates show the population of Brighton as 38,429 people. Since 2000, it has had a population growth of -2.81 percent.
