Sandwich Glass Museum

The museum's collection of glass is extensive, beautifully displayed, and well-documented. A multi-media presentation is offered which tells about the story of the era leading up to the opening of the glass factory, told though the perspective of a young boy and other locals; it seemed rather disjointed and rambling.

The exhibits themselves contain a fortune in Sandwich Glass and range from the most common to the most rare examples produced at the Boston & Sandwich Glass Company.

Glass objects are arranged in cases that are often set before windows which provide backlighting - very dramatic and effective. Table settings and a fine exhibit about lighting provide contemporary settings for the glass produced here.
