Chatham can be referred to as a town located in ‘Barnstable County, Massachusetts, US’. It should be noted that Barnstable County has been co-extensive with ‘Cape Cod’.
As per US Census Bureau, Chatham’s total area consists of 63.2 sq. Km; out of which 33.55% consists of water. Villages which form the town are inclusive of West Chatham, South Chatham, North Chatham, Chatham Port, and Chatham proper. This town has been bounded by ‘Harwich’ on the western side, Pleasant bay as well as Harwich on the northern side, Atlantic Ocean on the eastern side, and Nantucket Sound on the southern side. Moreover, it lies at a distance of 35 miles on the southern side of ‘Provincetown’ and eastern side of ‘Sagamore Bridge’, at a distance of 20 miles on the eastern side of Barnstable, and at a distance of 85 miles on the south-eastern side of Boston. It would be advisable to visit this place between November and January; as climate is humid.
The population as per 2000 census was 6625.
