Coast Guard Beach is a great scenic beach, perfect to hike, relax, walk and soak up the natural beauty of the Cape Cod National Seashore. The beach attracts many visitors, both residents and tourists coming to Cape for the first time. This beach is a boogie boarder’s paradise. The beach is a prime swimming beach during the summer season. The parking system is closed from mid June to Labor Day. For the reminder of the year, parking is limited. There are also seasonal restrooms and wheelchair accessible ramp way to the beach. Some of the features include the Great Beach, a sandy strand which offers opportunities to study coastal beach process. Then, there is the Nauset Marsh, where people get to see the shorebirds working the tidal flats. The beach has another attraction, the Nauset Split, offering opportunity to walk onto a barrier system and observe seals during the winter season.
