Falmouth had first been settled in the year 1660 by ‘English colonists’. Official incorporation took place in the year 1686. The name ‘Falmouth’ has been inspired from Falmouth, Cornwall, England. Sheep husbandry had gained immense popularity due to Merino sheep being introduced.
