Sleeper-McCann House/Beauport
Beauport had been constructed in the year 1907 to serve as a ‘summer home’. Thereafter, it was expanded for subsequent 27 years. At present, it features forty rooms which are full of folk art, curiosities, colored, or China glass. The name of this museum has been derived from ‘Henry Davis Sleeper’; who was an interior designer and a collector (of artistic items). His collection pertaining to European and American artifacts and art have been put on display, apart from the other pieces.
Timings
This museum remains open from Mondays to Fridays between 10:00 and 16:00 (from 15th of May to 15th of September); and From Mondays to Fridays between 10:00 and 16:00 (from 16th of September to 16th of October). On Saturdays and Sundays, the timings are: 13:00 to 16:00. It should be noted that Beauport always remains closed on1st of May, Last Monday of May, and 4th of July.
Paper House
Paper House has been made up of newspaper. The furniture that is on display also consists of paper. It was constructed in the year 1922. The appreciable thing is that it has stood till today, and would continue to do so!
