Lynn is a city which lies in Essex County in Massachusetts and is situated besides the Atlantic Ocean and the Massachusetts Bay. The city covers a total area of 13.5 sq miles out of which 10.8 sq miles is land and the rest is water. As per the 2007 census the city of Lynn has a population of 87,122 inhabitants, out of which 68%25 are Whites.
Lynn has a colder climate with 31 inches of snowfall annually. The city gets 39 inches of rain each year and the number of sunny days in the city is 198 on an average.The city was originally a town and thrived on fishing and agriculture but later developed as its shoe industry prospered as well as other industries such as the General Electric Company came up. Lynn also has a professional baseball team and Fraser Field is its municipal baseball stadium which was built in 1940.
