Marlborough is located in the county of Middlesex, Massachusetts in the United States of America. The population was measured to be 36,255 according to the 2000 census. The city is often referred to as the child of water because it is surrounded by three lakes on all the sides. It is also a neighbor of the booming city of Hudson. The name "Marlborough" is often called as Marlboro or Marl-burrow or Mah-Bro by different people here. The city was initially founded by Indians from Boston who emerged in Massachusetts. The city is situated on the eastern border of Boston and is bordered by six towns. The average temperature in Marlborough ranges to around 20 degrees throughout the year. The city also experiences moderate breezes in the months of January and February. The town has a total area of about 22.2 square miles, out of which 21.1 square miles is land and the remaining 1.1 square miles is water. Agriculture is an important occupation that is carried out here along with fishing.
