Martha’s Vineyard is an island spread across an area of approximately 232 sq km and has a population of around 15,000. It also includes the Chappaquiddick Island and lies at a short distance from Cape Cod. This city is a part of the Dukes County of Massachusetts in USA.
The aboriginals of this city are the Wampanoag Indians who inhabit the island now as well. Whaling, a traditional commercial activity, is still quite popular among the inhabitants of the city. Apart from this, tourism and the service sectors are an important contributor to this city’s economy.
The landscape of Martha’s Vineyard is unique and diverse. There are golden sandy beaches, hills, pristine waters of the sea, lush green vegetation and so forth. The city enjoys a tropical climate with warm and humid summers and cool winters.
