Northampton is a city which is situated in Hampshire County in Massachusetts, United States. It is also the county seat of Hampshire County and is nicknamed as the Paradise City. Northampton is part of the Springfield, Massachusetts Metropolitan Statistical Area.
Previously, this city was known as Norwottuck or Nonotuck. These names meant the mist of the river, as per the Native Americans. This city was incorporated as a city in the year 1883 and it developed into a thriving community and also a local center for education, arts and commerce.
