Norwood is a town and a census designated place in Norfolk County in Massachusetts. Norwood is situated on the Neponset River. This river runs all the way to Boston Harbor. As of 2000 census, the population of this town was 28,587. This town shares its name with a town which is situated in the borough Croydon, in South London, England.
Officially formed in 1872, Norwood was part of Dedham which was known as the mother of towns. This city was also used for long by Indians and was at first settled by Ezra Morse in the year 1678.
