Pittsfield is a city situated in Berkshire County in Massachusetts in the United States. It is surrounded by Hancock to the west, Dalton to the east, Lanesborough to the north and Richmond to the southwest.
The city has a population of 45,793 as per the 2000 census and was ranked as the 20th ‘Most Secure Place to Live’ by the Farmers Insurance in 2005. It also has been designated as one of the ‘Best Small Places for Businesses’ by Forbes in 2006.
Pittsfield has pleasant weather with January being the coldest month and July the least cold. Pittsburg was principally an agricultural community but later diversified into mills, wool producing and then the success of the General Electric Company.
