The Pilgrim Hall Museum in Plymouth is the oldest public museum in United States and is in continuous operations since it opened in 1824. This museum opened in 1947 for the general public. The Pilgrim society which got established in 1820 runs this museum. One can find the story of the Pilgrims and the Plymouth Colony in the museum. The museum has a collection of artifacts, artwork and a library too. There is also display of the Original Brewster Chair and a 1651 portrait of Edward Winslow.
